10 years back one more mile stone was waiting for Sachin Tendulkar and he did the same what he was capable of doing. Tendulkar became first batsmen to register 15000 runs in One day Internationals. This achievement came against the South Africa team in 3 ODI series 2nd match in which Tendulkar scored 93 runs and missed out 100 again second consecutive times in the series as before this he got run out on 99 in first ODI of the same series. Although, he was bit scratchy at the start of the series as he took 143 balls to score 99 runs.
In the 18th over Sachin Tendulkar took single to reach this mile stone and became first man on the planet to reach 15000 runs mark in the ODI’s. This accomplishment of Tendulkar is grand news for Indian fans after a horrible exit of Indian team from 2007 World Cup.
Speaking about the triumph at the end of the match, Tendulkar summed it up by saying, “After playing for 18 years, I feel it’s just one of those things.”
Sachin Tendulkar ended the ODI career on 18426 runs in 463 matches at an average of 44.83 most runs in ODI’s and behind him is Kumar Sangakkara on 14234 runs from 404 matches at an average of 41.98 and he too retired from International Cricket. He was still 22.75% runs behind from Sachin Tendulkar record.
