ICC Under-19 World Cup 2018 will begin from 13 January 2018 in New Zealand. A total of 16 teams are participating in this tournament which will last for 21 days. Indian team command is in the hands of Mumbai’s young batsman, Prithvi Shaw. Shaw’s showed lot of talent in the domestic cricket.
Under-19 World Cup is the biggest platform for the young cricketers. The players who perform here are more likely to get an opportunity at the next level. At present, many cricketers who have made a name in international cricket have been part of the Under-19 team. Players such as Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Cane Williamson came from this platform only and at present these three are also the captains of their teams.
In this tournament, in addition to hosts New Zealand, India, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies Teams of England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Ireland, Namibia, Canada, Kenya and Papua Guinea are participating.

In India’s group other three teams are Australia, Papua Guinea and Zimbabwe
Under the leadership of Mumbai’s young batsman Prithvi Shaw, the Indian team will play the first match against Australia on January 14. After this, Papua Guinea on January 16 and India will face Zimbabwe on January 19. The final of the tournament will be played on February 3.

Under-19 World Cup began in 1988. India has captured it three times. India has won the title in 2000, 2008 and 2012. In 2006 and 2016, the Indian team was the runner-up.
