Ashwin & Jadeja Ignored for T20 series with Australia; Ashish Nehra and Dinesh Kartik makes come back

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yesterday announced  the team for 3 match T20 series against Australia.The surprising element in the squad is 38 year old left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra who has made a comeback in the 15-member Indian team for T20 series against Australia starting from 7 October 2017. Last T20I match played by Ashish Nehra was on 1 Feb 2017 against England at Bengaluru.    

Dinesh Karthik has also been included in the squad. Dinesh Karthik was an replacement at the ICC Champions Trophy in June and then traveled with the team to the West Indies for a limited-over’s series. While spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are agian ignored for the three-match T20 series against Australia. They were also not part of 5 match ODI series agianst Australia. Ravinder Jadeja was selected for first 3 ODI’s just a replacement to injured Axar Patel but never selected in playing 11.  

Ajinkya Rahane has been dropped even after 4 back to back fifties in the series.

India are scheduled to play three T20Is against Australia, whom they have thrashed by 4-1 in the five match ODI series and regained the no. 1 spot in the ICC rankings. The Men In Blue would also like to improve their T20Is rankings as currently they occupy the fifth spot on the table.
