Christchurch, 17-21 Nov, 2016
Day 2: The test was reduced to 4 day match after day 1 was completely washed out yesterday. But Grandhomme making his debut took 6/41 demolishing the Pakistan’s innings to just 133 runs. De Grandhomme becomes the eighth New Zealander to take a five-wicket haul on debut, pitch was doing very much to trouble the batsmen and ball was moving in the air. From this bowling performance of Grandhomme its quite clear that there will be result in this test match. Misabh was the only player in Pakistan innings who could score 31 runs and others were doing just a formality. In reply Pakistani bowlers responded well as they reduced New Zealand batting lining up to 40/3. But the novice Raval 55*and Henry Nicholls 29* have added 64 for the fourth wicket to put New Zealand in commanding position on the stumps of day 2. The long these two batsmen bat it will be good for New Zealand. Pakistan bowlers need to take benefit of the pitch in the morning to diminish the New Zealand batting line up otherwise it will be too late.
Day 2, Stumps
Pakistan 133 (55.5 over’s)
New Zealand 104/3 (36.0 over’s)
New Zealand still behind 29 runs with 7 wickets in hand in the 1st innings
