Du Plessis found on the wrong side of the law for Ball-tampering, but cleared to Play
Skipper of South Africa Faf du Plessis will play the day-night Test regardless of being guilty of ball tampering. Du Plessis was penalised 100% of his match fee after a three-hour International Cricket Council (ICC) hearing at Adelaide Oval. He was initiated guilty of ball tampering under clause 2.2.9 of the ICC’s code of conduct. Footage emerged last week from the second Test of Du Plessis using saliva to shine the ball with a mint in his mouth.
Bhuvneshwar makes comeback for remaining test series against England.
Return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar into the last three Tests against England. Gambhir was left out of the remaining 3 Test Matches leaving M Vijay and KL Rahul as the only two expert openers in the squad. While spinners have conquered India’s bowling composition, Bhuvneshwar’s deviation and his recent match winning performance in Test cricket gives skipper Virat Kohli another option with four specialist pacers in the squad. Bhuvneshwar was ruled out of the third Test with a back strain. He was not picked immediately upon recuperating. Post recovery proved selectors as he played a Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai as per team protocol. He took wickets in the match and bowled a total of 36 over’s and 2 wickets.
