During his 107-run innings on 96 balls, he set a record which no other player in the world could touch. During his innings he hit 18 fours and three sixes, Dhawan has become the first player to score a century in Test cricket against Afghanistan.
Yes, players will score hundreds in the future against Afghanistan, but the record of first century against this team will be the name of this left-handed batsman. From the beginning of the match, the Dhawan was seen in different colors today. He applied pressure on Afghan bowlers from the very beginning itself. Dhawan reached the ‘peak’ which no other Indian batsman achieved so far, as he is included in the special club of Sir Don Bradman
But in the 10th over of the innings, Dhawan was dropped and got another chance. Taking the edge of the Afghani bowler Wafadar, the ball went in the hands of wickets of wicketkeeper Ahmed Shehzad. Despite a strong appeal, the umpire did not give out, nor did the Afghan team took the DRS.
When this incident happened, the Dhawan was playing om 23 runs. This mistake proved so heavy to Afghanistan that Dhawan completed his half-century in 47 balls and hundred on 87 balls. Â Besides this, Dhawan become the sixth player in the world to score a century in the session before lunch.
