After the ODIs and T20Is, ICC has now announced the World Test Championship. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the World Test Championship. The tournament will be played between 2019 and 2021, according to the ICC.
ICC Test Championship will begin in July 2019, Team India will play the first match against the West Indies away from home. According to the ICC, the test championship will be played between the top nine countries of the world rankings, in which all the teams will have six-six series. It is notable that the top two teams will meet in the final match at Lord’s ground in England.
“The top 9 teams in the ICC Test rankings will be participating in the World Test Championships from July 2019 to April 2021,” the ICC said in a statement. Each team will play in 6 series internally and abroad.
The teams that catch the first 2 seats will fall in the final match of June 2021. The winning team will be declared as the World Test champion “
It is noteworthy that Afghanistan and Ireland, which have recently won Test status, will not play in these Test Championships.
Future Tours Programme released by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday 20 June has provided the details on the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.
