One of the famous test matches of all time that we can’t wash from our memories was Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2nd Test Match of the 3 test match series. Indian were already 1 down in series and were enforced to play follow on in the 2nd Test Match as Austrilian posted 445 runs total in the 1st innings and Indian team was bundled on 171 runs in 1st innings. India was in big trouble in 2nd innings as they lost 3 wickets on 115 runs with Sachin Tendulkar back in the pavilion. Then came the moment were VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid added 376 runs for the 6th wicket and put India in dominating position putting 657 runs on the board . Laxman got out on 281 runs and Rahul Dravid made 180 runs; and winning the Test Match by 171 runs at one stage Australians were on 106/1 but got all out on 212 runs. The last time two teams met at Sydney, Australia 6-10 Jan 2015 the match was a draw.
Captaincy Record
Player | Span | Matches | Won | Lost | Tied | Draw | W% | L% |
Steve Smith | 2014-17* | 20 | 11 | 5 | 0 | 4 | 55 | 25 |
Virat Kohli | 2014-17* | 23 | 15 | 2 | 0 | 6 | 65.21 | 8.69 |
With India in supperb form in current scenario it will be difficult for Australians to tackle India. Moreover Indian skipper Virat Kohli also knows well that Australians are tough side to beat because they give fight in all circumstances even though they are young side. All in all it will be a great series to watch.
