Virat Kohli’s the run machine reached another milestone during the 2nd day of the 4th Test Match vs England at Southampton. The star batsman 2nd fastest Indian to reach 6000 Test runs just behind legendary Sunil Gavaskar.
Kohli touched the milestone in his 119th innings, while the former India captain had taken 117 innings to complete 6000 runs in Tests. He also become the overall ninth fastest player in Test cricket in terms of innings. Although he got out on 46 runs, missing out his fifty.

He became the tenth Indian batsman to score 6000 runs in Test cricket. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Dilip Vansarkar, Mohammad Azharuddin, Gundappa Vishwanath have scored more than 6000 Test runs before him.
Kohli overtook great batsman like Sir Viv Richards and Sachin Tendulkar, both these batsmen took 120 innings to do so.
He has scored 6000 * Test runs at an average of 54.57 *. Prior to the South Hampton Test, Virat was just six runs away from this figure. He completed 6000 runs with the four on the ball of James Anderson.
