Another feat achieved by the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has he became the 14th batsman in the history of International Cricket to hit 100 international fifties combining all formats i.e. One day Internationals (ODIs), Test Cricket and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). He accomplished this landmark in the first ODI of the ongoing 5 match ODI series between India and Australia, at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

A few days ago, MS Dhoni had registered the record of 100 stumpings in ODIs as a wicketkeeper, becoming the first in ODI cricket history to do so. He also has the record of most not outs in the ODI’s; Dhoni remained 74 times not out in 260 innings. Both the feats achieved during the 5 ODI series in Sri Lanka.

Not to surprise, India’s Sachin Tendulkar is at the top of the elite list with 164 international fifties under his name. Sachin Tendulkar is also the only Player to have 100 international hundreds to his name.
Second in this list is former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara. In his eminent international career, the Sri Lankan legend scored 153 international fifties. At number 3, 4 and 5 are South African legend Jacques Kallis (149), former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting (146) and the wall Rahul Dravid (146) from India.
This fifty of Dhoni was special in the aspect that when Dhoni came to crease Indian team was in big trouble as half side went to pavilion on the score of 87. He along with Hardik Pandya (83 off 66 balls) added 118-run partnership for the 6th wicket and 72 runs partnership for the 7th wicket with Bhuvneshwar Kumare which helped India to reach 281/7 from 50 Overs.
Hardik Pandya’s all-round splendor effort along with Dhoni sheet anchor innings helped India to beat Australia in a rain curtailed match by 26-runs (D/L method) in opening ODI of the five-match series, on Sunday.
