Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan become the fastest to reach 1000 runs in ICC ODI tournaments. Dhawan took 16 innings to complete this bettering Sachin Tendulkar’s record who took 18 innings to this.
Yesterday, India reduced the South Africa to 191 runs and while chasing the score Dhawan reuired just 32 runs to complete the 1000 club and he scored 78 runs and helped India to chase the target and fix their place in the Semi Finals. Dhawan debut the ICC Champions trophy in 2013. So far Dhawan scored 3 centuries and four half centuries in ICC Champions Trophy.
Saurav Ganguly, Herschelle Gibbs and Mark Waugh took 20 innings to go past 1000 runs mark in ICC ODI tournaments.
